It’s probably safe to say that most of us, when buying or using a rope, don’t spend a lot of time thinking about the process that goes into rope making; particularly rope braiding. The National Film Board of Canada on the other hand has a great deal of interest in the matter; so much in fact that they have produced a short film which provides a fascinating visual voyage through the twists and turns of the rope making world. The film can best be described as what I like to call a piece of industrial art. For rope lovers and others with a curious mind it is certainly well worth a view.
